look deep within
into bottomless pools

the outer layer
filled with expectation.

poised
     ready
         dive!

toes
    curled
         arms
            outstretched

splice, split, slice
mind cold as ice
seek new life.

exhale -
stream of bubbles
rise to surface.

inhale -
stroke down
toward
peace.
