Cross the yellow lines (I wrote for a friend who lost her brother in a motorcycle crash)
Cross The Yellow Lines
He was going through that, I want a Harley Phase.
As for his habits he knew this was not the right time to buy.
As life moved on and he had changed his ways, he thought he would give it a try.
Yes Proud and sober He mounted that bike, The smile you could not wipe from his face.
He was the kind of man, who just in an instant you'd like! A Beacon of light to all he'd embrace!
On that June Day that I'll not forget, because my pain runs so very deep. My loving brother who's time wasn't yet! Was taken by a driver asleep.
As a vehicle had crossed the yellow lines, the driver was dozed at the wheel, had Pushed my brother into a mountain side, his brakes not leaving a squeal.
Not even a ticket was given, just a slap on the wrist! And let go to kill another.
And they let this man just go on liven? why should he exist? When I no longer have my brother?
Was justice served? This was not his first time! Sometimes I don't quite understand.
In any other state it would have been life for a life! I don't agree with the laws of this land,
A part of my World was taken from me, How I loved my brother so.
His loving face, never again will I see, until it comes my time to go.
To my Brother: I love you, and I will be at your side someday! Until then, peace be with you!
Love Sis!
