Tired and in pain
You retreat from me
It's not insane
But a tested reality
That nurses move back
From people dying
Defense mechanisms react
Fear to be trying
My favorite part of nursing
Taking care of those who death is cursing
With the taking---to some more of a blessing
The old and infirm are what I'm guessing
