Heart Of The Matter
Deep Disturbance
By way of explanation,
The moon is full tonight,
Today my work got crazy,
Another day time flight,
And passively, I listened,
To words,
No man should speak,
I cannot show emotion,
As I listen to this freak,
My mind blocks out the images,
He conjures with his voice,
But I listen to his grim intent,
The victim of his choice,
I watch the deep disturbance,
His demonic devilish grin,
And I feel a panic rising,
From somewhere, deep within,
And suddenly, he's weeping,
His soul cries out in pain,
A doctor signs the papers,
I won't see him again,
But his words have made an impact,
And I'm shocked by his disclosure,
I have to make a statement,
As I struggle with composure,
They send me home, my day is done,
I yearn for open space,
And God grants me, distraction,
For I no longer, see his face.
