Breaking through rock and mud
O the sweet Sun I love,
Give me strength O mighty Rays!
and lengthen my earthly days
Have thou not been ordered from
the Lord On High
To sprinkle thy glory from the sky
and enhance my life?
Though I was compressed about by dirt and darkness
I shall forever believe in Christ!
Because when I was small in men's eyes
He heard my cries from the skies
and resurrected my soul
When all men thought me but worthless
He saw me as gold
I shall bear fruits to him all the days of my life
Though the clouds may try to hide
his face from me
I shall glorify him with my colors
until the day I die
