Have you ever been lonesome as a dove
So heartbroken without a mate to love,
Sitting on a branch of a tree high above
Cooing and calling a mate to be proud of.

~*~♥~*~

Perching day after day as time goes by
Not once does he ever even try to fly,
Sending his dire call over mountains high
Waiting for an answer soon in a mates cry.

As the sun rises over the hill at early dawn
Stillness is broken as his call lingers on,
Leaves swaying in the breeze are now gone
With harmony of rustling sounds foregone.

If you are feeling as lonesome as he,
Send your love over mountains and sea,
I'll wait like a lonesome dove in a tree
Until you answer a love call sent by me.
