Empty Nest
She raised all six, gave it her all
Alone she lives, sometimes they'll call
But not like it use to be
In her own words, forgotten me
She's been in need for quite some time
Of happiness that left it's lines
Across her face but she won't say
That sadness rules her heart today
Her home, once ours where all would leave
Today sits silent of us conceived
Choosing to stay where she is Queen
Of her domain, whats left of dreams
Although husband has passed away
She's been alone since that dark day
For many years it seems time severed
Widow by choice, mate lost forever
We spoke on phone, she seemed in need
To speak to one, someone, her seed
Who felt her pain though telephone
Her need to chat with me at home
Daughters all four have given her
The best they could but in her stirs
The brood she raised has changed so much
Before her eyes we have lost touch
Her time unknown whats left of it
Ponder she does alone she sits
Amazed, depressed, todays she sees
Whats left of what once use to be
I'm sure she cries alone at night
Wishing for all to see this plight
That severed love between siblings
Because adults have hurt feelings
We need to find a way to change
What has become of us estranged
Children she raised all on her own
Forgive and love those we disown
