GOODBYE
I read your last letter
Time and time again
Imagining you writing
Your thoughts in florid pen
I felt your anguish
Through those desperate terms
And the life was sucked out of me
As I went back to reaffirm
Opposites do attract
I firmly believe to this day
And I'll go on believing
Come what may
But the difference between us
Between you and I
Is that it didn't matter at all to me
But you said goodbye
