He wore a wooden hat
Because he said
It kept alien invasion
From his head
We all laughed
And played his game
But he was right
‘Cos when they came
They got the world
Including me
But then not quite
‘Cos he was free
I thank the lord
That he was there
With wooden hat
He had to spare
He quickly placed it
On my crown
And with deft flick
Pushed it down
All alien voices
Faded away
And I could think
Clear as the day
We live in the woods
On berries and honey
We have no need of
Things like money
We are untroubled
By things like that
Because we wear
Our wooden hats
We observe that world
With some despair
And pity our friends
Still living there
But we are free
Amongst the inane
As day by day by day
They become that more insane
