Heart Of The Matter

Climatic Confusion

Where are October's lusty gales?
Barren trees on hills and vales,
Eastern wind that cuts in two,
Heavy skies devoid of blue,

Autumn clings to summer's end,
Softly slowly, colours blend,
Skin still bared in strapless dress,
And all confused, I must confess,

Where are the bitter cold degrees?
The fondant icing on the trees,
The wind and rain that soaks you through,
The sun is warm, the sky is blue,

I wander aimless to the park,
This time last year, it would be dark,
And yet the sun is shining bright,
The moon is too, it thinks its night,

I photograph this autumn scene,
The tawny red, the vibrant green,
The misty blue concealing hills,
Whilst heather blooms,
On window sills.
