Heart Of The Matter

Closure

Too many years you held my heart,
In total captivation,
Too many years of learning,
Loves emotional deprivation,
Too many years of loving,
Leaving nothing but goodbyes,
Too many years of waiting,
Building castles in the skies,
Too many years of giving,
Asking nothing in return,
Too many years of looking back,
To see where we begun,
Too many years, too many tears,
Have tarnished what we had,
Too many years in hopefulness,
Now leave me, feeling sad,
Too many years of missing you,
In a way, you set me free,
Too many years to realise,
We were never meant to be,
Too many years of being strong,
Of dealing with the pain,
Too many years for closure,
Now I'm free, to fall again.
