 Beyond And More

The years have passed as we have too
Our chance to live what we once knew
True love unlike the kind some know
Beyond and more in me still grows

Rolling the dice I'd bet sometimes
You think of us and of the times
We held just hands and shared a kiss
On lips caressed by fingertips

Someone stole what once was good
Love escaped misunderstood
But still in heart you reign supreme
Yes in our sleep you still we dream

My walks alone we pace ourselves
Tracing back steps on how we fell
In love what felt was ours alone
We'd lose with time my heart cold stone

I think, pretend that all is right
Deep in thought each day and night
We feed off what our memories
Still keep of you before they flee

Heaven knows what runs in me
Too fast, too late yet still I see
What once was then and what is now
The past my best, still asking how

How does the heart begin to cease
Feelings that rule our inner peace
That call your name silent in us
Where once was love my heart did trust

So dream I do to hold together
The part of me that time has severed
Romance corny that keeps alive
The good that changed into goodbye

Beyond and more ... Still in love
