 TEMPTATION   OF   HELL

Temptation led me to this place,
And now I must suffer.
A tentative walk down a narrow path
Where a bright light shines,
Leading me out of my depth
To a foreign land.

Unfamiliar voices
Speak unfamiliar language,
Like nothing I've ever heard before.
Peering down the blackest tunnel,
Expecting an express train
To come shooting through,
But there's a blaze in the distance.

Shrouded in black,
These people beckon me on with a
Promise of happiness
But fear grips me and
I'm awash with guilt.
A small wrong-doing and
I am all undone.

I wasn't meant to end up in Hell
Where sinful blackness overtakes and
Praise is frowned upon.
