I got my car winterized the other day
Something was wrong along the way
My battery was weak and almost dead
I could easily have been left stranded
The new battery did not fit quite right
Some washers were used to make it tight
To be effective, it must stay in place
Or there will be no connection to trace
Car insurance is what many states require
Before a driver's license you can acquire
The premium must be paid when due
To keep it active when time to renew
It is the same way with your heart
Without God, it is evil in every part
Your battle is with the devil each day
What if you could find a better way?
Maybe you are putting God in a box
Afraid He will chase you like a fox
Your life is too bad for God to love you
So you continue to try even harder too
God is full of compassion and love
Demonstrated by His gift from above
He will make your heart brand new
When you accept His sacrifice for you
Look at Jesus and the thief on the cross
Jesus did nothing wrong to suffer loss
The thief knew his sin made him guilty
But Jesus was paying for his penalty
The thief came to Jesus in all of his sin
He knew Jesus could cleanse him within
God freely forgave him at that very hour
He was filled with the Holy Spirit's power
When you come in faith like the thief
Your soul will find healing and relief
God will accept you, flaws and all
Just reach out and on His name call
