Roller Coaster
The early light finding
It's way into his room
Time to get up, he assumes
Arms stretching to the ceiling
He doesn't feel rested
His blood sugar to be tested
Takes out his glucose meter
And pierces his finger
The pain does linger
A droplet of blood
Will tell if high or low
Soon he will know
If he eats candy or a sweet
His blood sugar will catapult
And it will be his fault
Mesmerized he waits to see
It's too high and it shows
Take a shot down it goes
Down in the valley
Opps too much, he is confused
Shaking and feeling abused
I'm either too high or too low
Blood sugar is the game
Diabetes is the name
Later in that day
His vision begins shake
His body feels the quake
He must act fast
Can't be slow
He is too low
He could comatize
to up the glucose saturation
He takes an injection
He will return to normal
try to maintain the level
soon hia body will rebel
Eating brings it back up
too high, he explains
It's not fair he complains
He must count carbs
Be it high or be it low
On his face it will show
