Poetic Verses
In Thy Hand
To awaken mine eyes to each daybreak
in anxious greet, the new day to bring
Yesterday's woe 'o my heart shall forsake
mine hope to soar high upon angel wing
By honest labor, feed the day's hours
'til darkness come and my head lay to rest
No wish to lay claim to gold or high towers
simplicity born like a babe at breast
To live for flowers or snowflake's delight
in awe of the earth and nature so fair
Work hand and mind, the 'morrow in sight
to savor each sight and sound to pass there
To accept thy will by hourglass sand
I trust in the 'morrow placed in thy hand
