  Second Chances

Years pass us by leaving us in their wake
Holding on to the past, fleeting one once awake
You dream of the future and what should have been
With nightmares your own wasting life what a sin

You chased many rainbows with hoping to find
The sly little Leprechaun we all had in mind
Realizing these moments was life sitting still
Today upon mirror you gaze one unfulfilled

Seems like a speedway of life passing by
We run as the Tortoise as the Hare flashes by
You pace your own fate, immobile it seems
Staying put was your problem, vanished all but your dreams

Your youth all but gone now, Your face reads the past
In life you rolled snake eyes that today on you cast
But hold to the promise you made to yourself
One day this will too change, finding something of wealth

Your still are forgiven and loved by the son
That shed more than teardrops before he was done
He sees all you lived and breathed to this day
He knows of the soul within one lives dismayed

There are second chances, Living proof that is you
Today your still breathing, yesterday we got through
Tomorrow is coming it's all in your hands
Take hold of whose holding, CHRIST savior of man
