Rhymes of the Heart

Summers Gone

Alas the summer breezes
Have all blown away
Foliage turning crimson
What a lovely display

The last summer blooms
Have folded their heads
To sleep through till springtime
In their earthly beds

The leaves have shook loose
To dance with the wind
To flutter and frolic
While they descend

The skies seem bluer
In this crisp fall air
As I take in Gods nature
I haven't a care

I'll relish the beauty
From dusk till dawn
Sad but for a moment
That summer is gone
