Heart Of The Matter
My Disruptions, Disrupted
I was glad when they went away,
Disrupting my thoughts,
Concentration awry,
Can't they see I'm busy?
A heavy desk,
Deadlines to meet,
I try to ignore them,
Now they're singing to me,
‘Oh, oh, looking for Linda',
Da dee de …
Yes, it's Friday,
And I work in a madhouse,
I give in and join in the crack,
The crazy conversations,
Ribald jokes,
From the lads,
Bold and blue,
And I have to admit,
They did make me laugh,
And they say …
I'm too serious by half,
For a Friday …
But can't they see I'm busy?
The phone rings,
I take the call,
My disruptions, disrupted,
And now they're gone,
Yes, the boys were hyper today,
All fired up for the weekend,
And I smiled,
They DID make me laugh,
They brightened my day,
But I admit I was glad,
When they left; went away.
