A Jade Vishnu Swam Out of Violet Sunsets

A jade Vishnu swam out of violet sunsets
And chummed with Gemini -- it was Myself --
Swearing off Demeter’s poppies
And the rightness of Immortality.
I was a wild hair
Blown into the public eye,
And so I felt a need to cut myself.
I brushed against the jagged edge of a star,
Ran down a long shore bleeding,
And, exhausted, drank from a good stream of Jesus.
I came to the place I had seen all my life,
And in this gathering place of deathstars,
Rolled away the heavy stone of reality
And entered the empty tomb of my own dreams.
