The children's cry
Cries of war we've heard before, But the cries of the children we can't ignore!
Will we ever end this arms race? Will we go on putting weapons in space?
Our Nation's debt is getting so high, why can't we hear the children's cry?
The rich get richer and the poor pay the price! Sure life's a gamble but who throws the dice?
Young people take their live's every day, because they feel there's no other way! Why can't we hear the children's cry?
Food stamps and welfare is all they know, how far will we let our Nation go?
To buy a home you'd have to work all of your life, if you had a good occupation!
We need to give the children hope, If we're to save our nation!
Tell me, what's wrong with the kid's of today? Nothing you can't cure!
Throw out your TV's, your party's and gin! Open your heart's and let the kid's in!
A-bombs and H-bombs and missiles of war, have frightened our children as never before!
while you keep harping on their purity, you won't realize they need security!
Look at your neighbors you try to impress, their trying to keep up with you!
material things you try to possess, ends up possessing you!
P.S. Stop nuclear war!
