The clock is chiming 4 a.m.
Restlessness stirs my bones
I lay and stare at ceiling
A voice inside me moans
That whisper it nags and gnaws away
A loneliness grips me real
With shivering creepy feeling
And coldness just like steel
Yet only hours before this
My world had different view
I was with the sweetest man and
That darling man was you
With a smile to compete with sunshine
And a heart as warm as toast
I get this nervous feeling
To me you mean the most
You could say my life was empty
A thousand nights I wept
The dream of finding love and soul
Alive it has me kept
With a charisma so engaging and
A gentleness in your touch
My heart belongs to no-one else
I love you so very much
