A knock at the door was a delivery man
Stood hugging a flowered bouquet
Was it really meant for me
Because it wasn't even my birthday
Cream lilies fought beside dahlias
A pleasurable wonderful sight
Where on earth did it come from
I pondered with all my might
A pretty card attached with some writing
Maybe this would provide me a clue
The script was old-fashioned and shaky
And then I realised, I knew
Days earlier I had been out shopping
And a sweet old lady fell before my very eyes
No trouble did it cost me, in my attempt to assist,
A thank you sent by an unexpected surprise
