FAR AND AWAY
Milky white clouds
Float in a froth of blue
As I stare intently
At the disappearing balloon
In exchange for a small coin
This limp hopeless sac
Had breath pumped into it
And the adventure began
Will it fly horizons new
And be found in the hand of a stranger
Will it scale a high mountain
And freeze in altitude
Perhaps it will touch the sun
And blister from the power
Or bubble along ocean waves
And drown mysteriously
My wish
Is for someone to catch the sailing kiss of mine
As it drifts across the moon
And deliver to me my dream
