 Darkness,  My  Old  Friend
Darkness  has  arrived  once  again
I've  no  strength  to  bid  him  go
so  to  darkness  I  open  the  door

Darkness, More  faithful  than a  dear  friend to  me
with  his  arrival  all  warmth, laughter  and  color
leaves, Save  many  shades  of  black  and  gray

With  each  unannounced  visit, The  longer  he  stays
yet  I haven't  the  will  to  latch  the  door
darkness, I  belong  to  you  once  more

How  long  will  you  stay, What  price  will  I  pay, As
loved  ones  flee, When  they  see  you  in  me, Hating  you
with  a  perfect  hatred, Yet  I  embrace  you  like  an  old  friend

You  expect  so  little  of  me, And  I
Nothingness  of  thee, I succumb  to  you
darkness, As  you  seep  into  me.
