If i could possesIf i had something That would give me wishes I'd not be happy They'd never turn out exactly how i thought It maybe good for a while I won't complain Then suddenly The tables will turn I will find it upside down Didn't go exactly how i planned Whatever i have If i got a wish from a star The fifty pence piece with a good rub on the nose for a wis The devil who'd take my soul and i'd have the wishes It will be good for a while Then i will not be happy or satisfied or complete Like i would be if i'd worked so hard for them myself I'd rather suffer hardship In this life i'd get what God gives me Then have what i didn't in the next life Where it will be better than i imagined possible Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
