Deep to the bone this mighty wind cuts
Its roughest blast is savage and cruel
Tightening its belt and screeching as it blows
Leaving a torrid shiver in its trail
Trees fold in their branches to hide from the wake
Feeble birds attempt to fly but are whirled in the air
Half mast clouds struggle to keep the pace
And hurtle at the speed of light along the sky
Traffic is buffeted and slows to near halt
A man on a bicycle fell off with a sharp jolt
Hats are being torn off and flipped to the floor
Overcoats tugged tersely and bright noses red raw
