Deemed UnsinkableNinety-five years ago today A cruise ship, had set sail, Her captain deemed her "unsinkable" An iceburg had her impaled. Many lives were lost On the frightful night, They drowned in icy waters Their souls had taken flight. Screams could be heard From the doories out at sea, Falling from the "unsinkable" ship While they were trying to flee. The Titanic sank that night She now sits, on the seabed floor, In the cold Atlantic Ocean A true story, not folk lore. Copyright Cynthia Jones Apr15/2007 Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
