CHILLY     WALK

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Just returned from a chilly afternoon walk
Down the grassy towpath along by the canal

Everything's slowing down for the winter
Though the scene is far from banal

The invigorating air was so crispy and clean
Hidden by clouds the sun darted lively between

Trees now unladen of their summer attire
Stand almost naked but still a spectacle to admire

The happy moorhens were calling from the rushes below
Pleased to let us watch them as they swam in the flow

People with their dogs, loving couples arm in arm
Perfect Sunday afternoon, serene hours of calm
