He Was Born Again

He Was Born Again

They threw him in prison
raped his body
called him names
surrounded him in work shop
taunting him, thinking he would bend
but they couldn't take
the spirit of this man
why?
because he was born again

He kept a journal
wrote his thoughts behind those bars
he would never get that far
not on this Earth he thought
but I am soaring in death
this promise shone as bright as the stars
he wrote they can't rule my mind
that can't take what's mine
the spirit of this man
why?
because he was born again

don't never let it be said
freedom exist only on the outside
you can be a prisoner there too
a man can have release
you are only as free
as you make yourself be
he is free he shouts
all because God is standing beside me
