CONCRETE JUNGLE
Cut-throat leaves
In a barren waste
Hurried people
Making haste
Barbed cold walls
Austere and grey
No-one speaks
Nothing to say
Iron railings
Keeping friendliness out
Wordless trauma
Bleakest drought
Out of tune steps
Echoing dull
Rage in black hollows
Subways are full
City defences
Stringent and rude
Rigorous virtues
Silently imbued
