As i was a-waitin
for the big day,
with a thankful heart
i took time to pray.
I set my sights
on a real plump guy
i says yes-yes
you caught my eye.
Turkey in the raw
Turkey in the raw,
roll up your sleeves be ready
on him we'll soon gnaw.
Stripped of his feathers
cause they'd be hard to eat,
looked all around
found myself a seat.
A big old drumstick
is what i saw,
callin out my name
i sunk my claw.

You come here hungry
but you leave here full,
it don't cost a penny
to get food for the soul.
You can't hardly move
when you are done,
but get down on your knees
to the almighty one.

Did you ever go hungry
out on the street,
while all around you
had so much to eat?!
With your belly full of food
and your words full of grace,
for so many go hungry
with no smile on their face.
Before you sink your claw
Before you sink your claw,
share with those less fortunate
there oughta be a law.
With more than enough to go around
Turkey in the raw!
