Early Sunday morning light
Filters through the curtains bright~
As it says goodbye to night
I'm all wrapped up in blankets tight~
Window curtains moving gently
With the early morning chilly air~
Last night rain it played games on my roof
Still wet as can be out there~
Last nights fire with ashes warm
Gives the slightest glow~
A good day to stay where I am
A Sunday sleep in I shall know~
I hear a tree branch upon guttering
Playing a chilly windy tune~
I heard a lonesome bird outside
As if saying raining again real soon~
The dripping of dampness upon my window sill
A patter upon the window pane~
Not a day to be outside at all
For today it's going to rain~
Staying right here in my bed
No better place today to be~
A wet Sunday today for sure
No outside adventures today for me~
