 Jonathan

When Jonathan comes marching home again Hoorah! Hoorah!
He'll leave the sand dunes to the wind Hoorah! Hoorah!
They'll give him a hearty welcome grin,
Hopefully he won't have to go back again
and they'll all sing glory Hoorah! Hoorah!
But, some of the things Jonathan had seen
he might wake up in the nights with a scream.
Clutching his pillow with all his might,
trying to get away from a fire fight.
He's served his country he's payed his due,
and never lost faith in the red white and blue.
Now he needs help from me and you.
To make his Hoorah's turn out true.
Give him a salute a hug or kiss
for leaving his home and the ones he missed.
He did his duty the way he was told
believed in his leaders and never did fold.
But, he'll have memories he'll never erase
as he walks amongst the human race.
Hopefully he can get over what all he did see
and him and his family will live care free.
Hoorah! Hoorah!

Written For My Stepson
Who's a Marine serving in Iraq.
Love you Son

Stan
