 Word of Truth
Don't look away when your talking to me,
look me in the eyes so the truths there to see.
Don't stand and fidget with your hands while you talk,
twisting and turning wanting to walk.
Stand fast my child and answer my questions,
this is a demand not a suggestion.
One day you'll be a parent like me,
wanting the truth from your child to come free.
How can I help you in any situation,
if all you will give me is lies and frustration.
I thought I taught you better than this,
was there something about truth that I did miss.
I know I'm your father but, I'd rather be your friend
that won't happen until your lying comes to an end.
You'll live and die by the decisions that you make,
being labeled as a liar could be your worst mistake.
A mans word of truth is so simple to give,
so always be honest and you'll truly live.

Stan
