Heart Of The Matter
It's Our Day!
I heard it on the radio,
It's National Poets Day!
I guess we should we honoured,
But I don't know what to say,
I feel there's something missing,
Is there somewhere we should be?
Is there someone celebrating?
The likes of you and me,
Should we be on a platform?
To catch a train of thought,
Perform upon a stage somewhere,
For a ticket someone bought,
Are the public waiting patiently?
To hear what we may say,
Can you tell me?
What do poets do?
