Picture perfectA long table filled the room One last sweep of the broom Napkins folded in place In the china, your face The silver was shined at last Now the placing of a wine glass Dinner is ready, she greeted One by one they were seated As each bowed their head A long winded grace was said The family waited in their seat she arose and said” let's eat!” All the dishes went around It was quiet, nary a sound Dinner included what she made And other dishes in a parade A wonderful time for all Later there would be a desert call Cakes, pies and cookies too Or what looked like chocolate Goo Happy ThanksGiving to You ______________ JDW©2007 Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
