Just this minute I finished a poem I thought was quite amusing
But came across another from a poet who had lost a relative
Suddenly I stopped smiling and came to a shuddering halt
And realised how brittle our life is and yet imperative
I can easily admit I am one of those forgetful people
We wake up we work we sleep and eat
We don't always appreciate all those kindly hearts we know
The treasures of characters every single day that we meet
Even the one's that seem insignificant at the time
Still leave a tiny mark where they touched our soul
We should try and remember that when we tour this great world
Each and every person added together makes us whole
