Whizz bang
Snapped the party crackers
And my cats got a shock
The looks on their faces
I wish I could mock
You would've laughed
If you saw ‘em
Flying through the air
Just as you would
If you got a mighty scare
When they landed in terror
Their backs were arched high
And the fur was pointed skyward
Cajoled them, I tried
But they wouldn't have any
They huddled in a corner
Hoping the look-out
Would whistle and warn her
Just when all was calm
And they had thrown caution to the wind
Out blasted another and
I stood and I grinned
As the leader flew the stairs
Into the airing cupboard
Followed by three more
And they kissed and they cuddled
