 BAGGAGE

I try to imagine my life without baggage
Strong wings as free as a bird
Literally nothing to carry around
Only my promise and my word
For some days I feel I can't manage
With one more burden to my load
If another person should say a word
I think I will scream and explode

Why can't life be simple and easy?
As we cast problems off like a coat
At the end of the day we brush ourselves down
And those ugly bags we don't need to tote
Start anew at the beginning of each day
As though there were no yesterdays
The slate is wiped clear and there's nothing to fear
Let destiny release us to have our say
