Poetry By A CONTEMPORARY POET

Closure

I met you that one last time.
I thought my feelings I had for you were gone,
And we were completely over.
Something I wanted and needed in my life was closure.
I knew what we had that bond was so strong no one could break.
The more I looked at the pictures of me and you together how my
heart would ache.
I imagine what could have been if we tried to make it work.
I loved you so much that at night my body would hurt.

Your smile how it would light up a room.
Your firm touch those are just some qualities,I loved about you.
We promised no matter what journey we traveled,
Or our life took that we would never be over.
I stand here proud to say,"I Love You,"
What I needed was closure.
I miss you but we were doomed from the start.
I hurt you but yet I am the one with the broken heart.
