The Greatest GiftIt is not found in any store Or by having money galore Not a life of fun and pleasure By what you value and treasure It came one blessed holy night There appeared a star so bright It led to a lowly stable with hay Where a special little baby lay It was a gift from God above Because of His wonderful love Prophecies from the ancient past Had now been fulfilled at last Gifts were brought to this King For redemption He would bring The way of the cross His destiny To save mankind for all eternity This gift is free for you to receive Just open up your heart and believe Christmas is not about the presents It is Jesus and the joy of His presence Isaiah 9:6 (NIV) For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. © Carol Salter 12/01/07 Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem
