Another Christmas Without Mom

Another Christmas Without Mom
An angel tops the Christmas tree,
There's popcorn strung with thread,
Snowflakes, and stars of silver,
Paper garlands of green and red.
Candles tied to the branches
You will light at setting sun,
Christmas carols by the fire,
Christmas Eve has just begun.
The parlor is all festive
With boughs of evergreen,
Deliciously gracing the table,
The best food you've ever seen.
You made each Christmas present,
Knitted scarves for Dad and Mom,
Made mittens for the boys,
Made the girls ribbons tied with poms.
The sleigh is hitched and ready,
Old Dobbin knows the way,
All bundled up, your family travels
To church on Christmas Day.
Remembering stories you told me,
Of Christmas' so long ago,
Will keep you ever near me,
For Mom, I miss you so.
It seems as each year passes,
And Christmas Season starts anew,
Precious memories make it possible
To spend another Christmas without you.
