 SOLEMN     FACES

Solemn faces peer out at me
Not a flicker of a smile in place
Everyone's rushing about their business
The world is in such a haste

Less than four weeks to go and
People should be cheerful
The holiday season will soon be here and
Those jaded expressions are very dull

Too much emphasis
Is placed on the wrong things
Gifts, food, trees and drink
Rather than the good tidings it brings

While you are zipping about all over the place
Listen to the carols and spare a thought
Remember the day that He was born
And for our sake how He fought
