Azotus

Janus

It was disturbed.
That early
Ancient dawn!!

Down the sacred valley
of "Tiber"

Vacant,
The street
of "Argiletum"

Dormant,
The People Northeast.

Silent,
The "Roman forum"

When shrilled gates
of his temple,
Flung them open,

Revered priests.

Frightened birds
Flew fled their aging
yawning olive trees.

As the twin doors
of wars were opened,
Old drums were beaten
and warriors deployed.

They marched!
They staged another fight!

They failed a fleeting peace.

Swift,
He never ceased!!

He erupted!!
Like a whirlwind
or some furious tempest.

In a fit of temper,
He pierced, he entered.

They invoked him
and solid the plight
of lord "Janus"

The two-faced creature.
