Haunt me

You no longer taunt me
but always you haunt me
nightmares all of the while.
Such a lovely lipstick
but always it's too thick
I wonder if it's really a smile?
Always I hear you
but deep down I fear you
I never know what you will ask.
Always I'm giving
but somehow still living
somewhere lost in the past.
Each day that I wake in
is already forsaken
as I shiver cold from the night.
The sunlight just blinds me
all things still remind me
of once, when you held me so tight.
So come on and haunt me
though you can't ridicule and taunt me
there is nothing else you can do.
You are no more besides me
to love yet deny me
but to love you is what I would choose!
