Not A Good Day!She ran into his arms, He held her very tight, They in their haste, fell over, It gave them such a fright! Upside down, on their bums, legs lashing all around, ‘Gerrof!' She screams, ‘Me knickers are caught, And me ‘lastic can't be found!' He jumped up, held out his hand, To help her to her feet, With dress awry, buttons undone, She didn't look very neat! ‘Sorry, luv!' He told her, 'The step got in the way!' ‘That's o.k.!' She replied, ‘It's not been a very good day!' So, once again he held her, And as he bent to kiss her face… He cut his lip…'ow,' he cried, He'd caught it on her brace! ‘Oh Lord,' she breathed, ‘What have I done? I forgot to take it off!' So she slipped it out, Put it in her bag, And gave a discreet little cough. Then startled, they heard a voice ask… ‘If you're o.k. we've begun!' Then they looked around, to a sea of smiles, And thought; ‘what have we done?' Brought to the earth with a thud, And blushing a bright red hugh, They turned to the priest, and in union, Replied to him…‘Yes, we do!' Poetry Ad-Free Upgrades Vote for this poem |
