Oh Holy Night

I was on my way home
Snow was starting to fall
My arms full of packages
I'd bought at the mall

I hummed Silent Night
Along that busy street
Smiling at the people
My life seemed complete

Such a beautiful night
Santa on his way
Coursing through the sky
With his reindeer and sleigh

The stockings were hung
The tree shining bright
Snow is still falling
There'll be magic tonight

As I rounded a corner
Movement caught my eye
Beside the nativity
There stood a little guy

He was tattered and dirty
Then he kneeled in the snow
Beside the baby Jesus
With his face all aglow

He looked up and asked me
Are those gifts for the King?
I brought Him this Angel
Though it has a broken wing

But it's very special
And I know He can tell
My mommy gave it to me
She went to Heaven to dwell

Mommy she taught me
To give and to pray
Bringing my most valuable gift
To Jesus today

I clung to that little boy
My tears streaming down
Then I thought of Jesus
In that thorn filled crown

I'd forgotten the meaning
Of Christmas you see
Till that tattered little boy
Sweetly looked up at me

I fell to my knees
 Right there in the snow
Asking God to forgive me
The boys face all aglow

The snow swirled around me
Oh Holy Night
Gone was the Angel
That showed me the light
