Regardless of where one travels
North south earst and west~
There is one tree I've noticed
That in any place upon earth passes the test~
It grows everywhere that I've been
And all the places I have not~
It's been around since time it's self
And back to a time most have forgot~
It's thick and brown and healthy bark
It's fish bone appearance of leaf~
It's smallest darkest berry
It survives all over without grief~
The insects love living in it's growth
A home for them one and all~
And in the highest winds and storms
I seldom see one fall~
Every time I go to some place
As sure as sure can be~
No matter where I travel to
There's a Pepperrina Tree~
I see them away out upon farms
And in the mountains too~
Places that grow nothing at all
But they survive they do~
I see them in the background
Of endless documentaries upon T V ~
And somewhere no matter where I've been to
There's always a Pepperrina Tree~
It's fruit cannot be eaten
Nothing upon it I know is of use~
Might be why they do so well
Why it bypasses abuse~
It's shade is cool in hot lands
but be careful as I've found~
It loves giving a home to spiders
Within it and upon it's ground~
Nests of ants adore it
As do wasps n bees alike~
And it looks ever beautiful
Against a real full moon on a summers night~
Every where upon this earth
A Pepperrina Tree will be~
Somewhere within the area
Surviving fine and forever free~
