Poetry For Everyday People

There's An Innocence

A purity
that develops
from living
from seeing
from feeling
from losing

a second coming
of oneself

an understanding

a decision
to free
what's left
and re-find
that feeling
of first touch

first kiss
fresh chance
clean with lavender
candles
lilac moon
a good friend
a glass of wine

kicking our feet up
moving on
comfortable
sure
wise
beautiful

battling memories
no more
blaming ourselves
no more

yesterday we grew up
today we live

the price
paid

lies die

pain
no more

in this
new chance.
